BRITT AND MICHAEL JANYK

Britt and Michael Janyk are Spring Creek's Olympic Athletes.  They grew up, went to school, and trained in Whistler.  We are very proud of our home-grown Alpine Skiers.  We will be following their training and competitions leading up to the 2010 Olympics.  To stay in touch with their travels around the world click Britt   or   Michael .

Spring Creek welcomed Michael to an assembly on October 27, 2009 and Britt to an assembly on November 6, 2009.  We learned about their connections to Whistler then and now.  WE WILL BE EXCITED TO CHEER THEM ON AT THE FINISH LINE!

ASHLEIGH MCIVOR

Ashleigh wowed our students in an assembly that included primary and intermediate classes in December.  She showed a video of her ski cross races and passed around a medal that she was really proud of.  Ashleigh talked about the challenges and excitement of her sport.  Students were really impressed with her hard work and perseverence through injuries to bounce back and become the first Canadian named to the Olympic Team!  Join us in cheering her on during the competition season leading up to the Olympics!  Follow her blog by clicking here.

LUGE ATHLETES

Spring Creek welcomed three athletes from the Canadian Luge Team on Friday, December 5, 2008.  Luge athletes  Regan Lauscher ,  Mike Moffat  and  Chis Moffat  shared their stories, inspiration, and Olympic experiences with Spring Creek students.  We very much enjoyed learning about the Winter Sport of Luge, particularly since we have the NEWEST and FASTEST track in the world right here in Whistler.  Click on these athletes' names to learn more about them.
